Red Dead Redemption 2 Delay Pushes Release Date Back To Spring 2018, But Rockstar Rolled Out New Screenshots

Rockstar Games just delivered some good and bad news about the highly anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2.

The good news is that there’s a ton of new screenshots that give fans everywhere a closer look at what’s in store. The bad news is that the release date has been pushed back to Spring 2018.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Launch Delayed

Taking things to Twitter, Rockstar Games officially announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 is now set for a spring 2018 launch.

As for the reason, the developers say that “some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.”

While that sounds good and all, it’s not enough to dampen the frustration that eager users got from the situation. Rockstar Games understands that, though, and offers an apology.

“We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready,” Rockstar Games says.

Originally, Red Dead Redemption 2 was slated for a fall 2017 release date for the PS4 and Xbox One. No word on whether or not it’ll become available on the PC or the Nintendo Switch.

New ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Screenshots

Red Dead Redemption 2 Delay Disappoints Fans

Needless to say, fans are disappointed by the bad news, and the screenshots did little to mitigate the ire of the people.

@RockstarGames Wow. Quickest delay announcement I’ve ever seen. Nothing surprising though. And still hyped.
